Situated in the middle of what city planners are calling
the next "boom area" of Nashville is a remarkable combination
of two congregations. Over 200 years ago God led some of his people to
organize the historic Mill Creek Baptist Church. With a heart for witness
they organized a number of churches in Middle Tennessee. Concord was the
first in 1804, and Grandview was the last in 1908. For many years these
two churches have witnessed in separate churches have joined again into
one family.
Each congregation was searching for property in the Concord Rd
area where they would build a new facility. When the two discovered that
they had common goals, discussions began on the possibility of ministering
together. After much prayer and discussion, it became obvious to both
groups that God had a work for them to do together. In October of 1997
the churches began worshipping, planning and serving together. And, on
March 2, 1998, they officially become "one body".
December 21, 2003 started a new chapter for Concord-Grandview with the first Sunday Service in our new building. And on April 18, 2004 we dedicated this new tool to God and to the work He will have us do in this community.
Today there is a new work of God. Concord-Grandview Baptist
Church exists to become a center of Christian influence by meeting the
physical and spiritual needs of those around us through worship, training,
fellowship, and loving service. We invite you to "look where God
is at work and come and join Him".
